Can I use the barcode scanner on older iPhone models?
For best results we recommend using the barcode scanner with the iPhone 3GS or the iPhone 4. BooksApp offers limited support for barcode scanning on older iPhone models, but an additional macro-lens accessory is required (and not included with the application). If you have an older iPhone model or an iPod touch you can always enter the ISBN numbers using the keyboard.
Where can I find the ISBN barcode?
The ISBN barcode is a 13 digit number usually located on the back cover of the book. You can find more information here.
Can I use the barcode scanner with other type of barcodes?
The barcode scanner will only recognize ISBN-13 barcodes.
I am having trouble scanning some barcodes. How can I improve the barcode scanner reliability?
It is very important to use the barcode scanner in a well-illuminated environment. Low light conditions may affect the contrast and cause motion blur during long exposures. Also, make sure that the barcode is “large enough” in the image and hold still while the barcode is being scanned
Will future updates to the books database screw up my own items?
Nope. Future releases of BooksApp may need to update your books database in order to support new features. This update process can take several minutes depending on the size of your catalog. Please do not interrupt the process and wait until it is finished, otherwise you may lose your data.
